Specific Process Description

Hot Working

 Forging temperature: 870–1175 °C
 Avoid working in low temperatures and high-sulfur environments to prevent hot brittleness

Cold Working

 Applicable processes: cold rolling, cold drawing, cold forging
 Intermediate annealing (870–980 °C) is required to eliminate work hardening

Machining

 Use carbide cutting tools, low speed and high feed rate
 Cutting fluid lubrication is recommended to avoid tool sticking

Welding

 Recommended methods: TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
 Filler metal: ERNiCu-7 (AWS A5.14)
 Preheat to 150–200 °C for large cross-section welding

Heat Treatment

 Annealing: 870–980 °C, rapid cooling (water quench or air cool)
 Stress relieving: 510–650 °C, slow cooling
