What Are ASTM B444 Inconel 625 Tubes?

ASTM B444 Inconel 625 Tube is a nickel-based seamless tube made from Inconel 625 (UNS N06625) for high-corrosion and elevated-temperature service. It offers excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, chloride stress corrosion cracking, and oxidation, even in seawater and other aggressive environments.

ASTM B444 covers cold-worked seamless tubes, with Inconel 625 commonly supplied in Grade 1 (Annealed) and Grade 2 (Solution Annealed) conditions. It discusses important difficulties such chloride stress corrosion cracking, pitting in seawater, high temperature oxidation. It has a weld-seam less construction, which eliminates failure in high pressure sour gas and supercritical boiler applications. Its combination of corrosion resistance, high strength, and seamless construction makes it suitable for chemical processing, marine, aerospace, oil & gas, and power generation applications.
